-Learned sorcery magic anew from dragonkin in Numoth, and met a Knight of Bahamut named Tristan. There is conflict in Numoth between the Church of Bahamut and the Cult of Tiamat. The treaty brought open hostility to a standstill but the situation was tense.
-Kara and Tristan worked together and liberated an ancient cave of treasures belonging to the dragonkin Church of Bahamut, which was infested by creatures no doubt summoned by the dragonkin in the Cult of Tiamat. The cave contained many treasures, including some scales of Sulfernath himself.
-As a reward for her deeds in the cave, Kara was awarded a Wand of the War Mage +1 from the Church of Bahamut in Numoth, which was made using one of Sulfernath’s scales, given to them as a gift from long ago, but lost to them when the cave was taken over.
-Found out from an ancient dragonkin knowledgeable in dragon lineages that Sulfernath isn’t red, he’s the offspring of a red dragon and a gold dragon, with freedom to choose good or evil.
-Ran into Tacitus in Numoth, who revealed to Kara’s surprise that Boreali is in fact alive! Tacitus was also aware of Boreali’s travels to OutWorld.
-Escorted back to Ashryn’s kingdom, quick reunion with Ashryn (a day and night together, bow-chicka-wow-wow)
-Ashryn and Tacitus used their powers (in Ashryn’s case, her power as queen) to make a portal to OutWorld for Kara, who left seeking Boreali.
Earlier that evening, Kara agreed with Ashryn that what the Grey Worm said was not to be trusted. She shared her adventures in Numoth with Ashryn, but tension hung in the room the whole evening as to their feelings for each other, until…
Ashryn and Kara collapsed on top of a heap of pillows, panting quietly from their recent night of activity.
A few minutes later, Kara spoke:
Ashryn shifted to look in Kara’s eyes, and couldn’t resist giving her a quick kiss.
Kara stroked Ashryn’s hair gently as she said “I love you as much as any other…but I’m afraid…”
“What are you afraid of?”
“You’re a queen now.”
“Yes…What of it? My status hasn’t changed how I feel about you.”
“I know, but what I mean is…won’t your people want an heir to the throne?”
“Oh…” Realization crept into Ashryn’s expression and her eyes showed she was thinking inward. “Come to think of it, there have been suitors…” Her expression became worried.
Kara gently stroked her cheek “Well, if my queen is to have a king, it should be a man she loves with all of hear heart. Promise me you won’t settle for anything less.”
“Of course…” She seemed withdrawn. “I wish you could stay…”
“I wish the same thing…” Kara said “but you know why I have to.”
“I’ll always love you, Ashryn.”
“And I you.”
They held each other through the night.
